KamerLink is operated by NCore Technologies (“KamerLink,” “we,” “us”), based in Cameroon. [Placeholder: exact registered company form — e.g. SARL/Ltd — and registered address to be added once available.] This policy explains what information we collect through the KamerLink website and mobile app, why we collect it, and the choices you have.

1. Information we collect
We collect information you give us directly, and a small amount generated by using the service:
- Account information: name, email address, password (stored hashed, never in plain text), role (job seeker, recruiter, mentor, student), and phone number if you add one.
- Profile information: headline, bio, skills, work history, education, profile photo, cover photo, and any resume or video pitch you upload.
- Company information (recruiters): company name, description, logo, office photos, team photos, registration details submitted for company verification, and job postings you create.
- Applications and activity: jobs you apply to, cover letters, messages you send other users, posts and comments you publish, events you create or register for, and connections you make.
- Technical information: IP address, device/browser type, and pages visited, collected in aggregate through our analytics tool (see Section 4).
We do not currently collect payment card details, government ID numbers, or precise location data. Mobile-money payment support is planned but not live at the time of writing.
2. How we use your information
- To create and run your account, and show your profile to the people it's relevant to (e.g. recruiters, for a job seeker's public profile).
- To match job seekers with relevant job postings and vice versa.
- To let you communicate with other users (messages, comments, posts) and register for events.
- To send account-related emails (verification, password resets, application updates).
- To keep the service secure — detecting abuse, fraud, and fake accounts.
- To understand overall usage patterns through privacy-friendly analytics (Section 4), so we can improve the product.
We do not sell your personal information to third parties, and we do not use your data to serve third-party advertising.
3. Who your information is shared with
- Other users, as intended by the feature: your public profile is visible to other members; applying to a job shares your application and profile with that job's recruiter; posts and comments are visible per that feature's audience.
- Service providers who help us run KamerLink: our hosting/infrastructure providers (including Vercel, for the website, and our database/file-storage provider) process data on our behalf, under instructions from us, solely to operate the service.
- Legal reasons: if required to comply with a legal obligation, or to protect the rights, safety, or property of KamerLink or our users.
We do not otherwise share your personal information with third parties for their own marketing purposes.
4. Cookies, local storage, and analytics
See our Cookie Policy for the full, itemised list of what we store on your device and why. In short: we use a small number of strictly-necessary items to keep you signed in, and a privacy-friendly, cookie-free analytics tool (Vercel Web Analytics) to understand aggregate traffic — it does not build a profile of you individually or track you across other websites.
5. Data retention
We keep your account information for as long as your account is active. If you ask us to delete your account, we will delete or anonymise your personal information within a reasonable time, except where we need to keep limited records for legal, security, or dispute-resolution purposes.
6. Your choices and rights
Regardless of where you're located, we want you to have meaningful control over your data. You can:
- Access and update most of your profile information directly in your account settings.
- Ask us for a copy of the personal information we hold about you.
- Ask us to correct inaccurate information.
- Ask us to delete your account and associated personal information.
- Withdraw any consent you've given us, at any time, going forward.
Some of these are currently handled manually rather than through a self-service button in the app — email kamerlink1@gmail.com and we will act on your request. We're building self-service tools for these over time.
7. Security
We use industry-standard measures to protect your information, including encrypted connections (HTTPS), hashed passwords, and access controls on our systems. No method of storage or transmission is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security — but we work to keep your information protected and to respond quickly if something goes wrong.
8. International data transfers
Some of our infrastructure providers operate servers outside Cameroon. Where that happens, we take steps to ensure your information continues to receive an appropriate level of protection, consistent with this policy.
9. Children
KamerLink is intended for people who are at least 16 years old, or the minimum working/legal age in your country if that is older. We do not knowingly collect information from children under that age. If you believe a child has created an account, contact us and we will remove it.
10. Changes to this policy
If we make material changes to this policy, we will update the “Last updated” date above and, where appropriate, let you know in-app or by email.
